"To you women of today, who are old or young, may I suggest to you that you write, that you keep journals, that you express your thoughts on paper. Writing is a great discipline. It is a tremendous education effort. It will assist you in various ways, and you will bless the lives of many--now and in the years to come, as you put on paper some of your experiences and some of your musings." --President Gordon B. Hinckley

I have no idea... Just so you know, when you Google "Why did Brigham Young use green paint on his winter home, your post is the fourth in the list!
I will say so they could see it in the snow?! Or maybe to break the winter doldrums?;)
I KNOW THIS ONE! Thanks Kass . . .
They used green b/c the wrong color was ordered for the temple and BY was so "frugle" that he didn't want the green to go to waste.
What do I win? What do I win?
Don't tell them I told you!
Very interesting!
So tempted to guess something inappropriate here.
