Every mom likes to brag about her kids, right?

School is out!
Kassidy and Mitchell both had exremely great school years. We are very proud of them. They are both very hard workers. Kassidy has grown up alot and become very independent and confident. She exhibited more autonomy in her school work than ever before. She really took charge of her schedule and work load. She was, of course, very successful. She stayed on the honor roll and continued to get Accelerated Reader awards each quarter. She was also awarded in art and music during the year. She played on the girls basketball team. I think it is fitting that she is accepting one award in front of the "Girls Rule" poster in the awards assembly. In spite of just wanting to play like boys want to play, Mitchell maintained straight A's all year. His teachers have always told me they want a whole class of kids like him. I had one parent approach me to tell that her daughter was being picked on at recess one day. Her daughter fell down and kids were teasing her. Mitchell went up to her, helped her up, and then told the other kids to leave her alone. Mitchell's teacher this year gave him the award for being "kind to everyone". He also earned awards in art and music.
Now on to baseball, swim lessons, pool parties, camping, fireworks.
Let the summer fun begin!

Amen! Kids may learn math, reading, science and language at school but they learn compassion, kindness and empathy at home. Well done.

You should definitely be proud!! I love that your school recognizes other "skills" and talents beside Academics--way to go kiddos! (Kassidy is a little Beth if I ever saw one! So cute!)
