In Pride and Prejudice Jane Austen wrote,
"what are men to rocks and mountains".
But I remind you that wind and water carved the Grand Canyon.
Sunday afternoon when the hail started, I worried for my flowers. When the hail became golfball size, I worried for the cars parked on the street. When the hail bounced around at 3 inches in diameter, I worried for my roof. While I was watching the hail from my covered porch, my neighbor yelled over that he got a good shot of the tornado. Tornado? I quickly sent my children to the basement. I do not fear these elements, but I do respect them. Here is the shot my next door neighbor took from his front porch.
When it subsided our phone started ringing with friends concerned for our safety. They heard of our little neighborhood being in on the action. Though our home and street fared well, others in our neighborhood had some cleanup to do. Some of the action included a BBQ grill flying thru a Suburban, fences strewn about, trampolines in tangled messes 3 doors down from their home, broken windows, uprooted trees and downed light posts.
Check out the post sticking out of the house with its broken windows
Think what the damage would be if this was a trailer park.

But then it turned quickly to this...
neighbor helping neighbor. picking up debris.
piecing together fences. sweeping up glass.
friends hugging, relieved to see all was well enough.
The only injury we know of was a neighbor who got thrown by the wind while trying to photograph the tornado. The ambulance picked him up with his dislocated shoulder.
That, my friends, is natural selection.

A Natural Consequence as we call it in our house . . .
Glad you are okay. It sure was scary.
It scared the ..... out of us over here too. Same thing, everyone glad to see that all our friends and neighbors were okay. Glad it was the same on your side of the twister!
Totally freaky. And amazing. Glad everyone is okay!
Wow! You guys really seem to attract adventures. Glad all are ok.
That is awesome!! The storm and the fact you guys are ok.
"Criminitely Trigger! Put that pea shooter down!" and head for cover! Great photo, though. Sigh... so glad no one was seriously hurt.
I'm glad that you guys are okay! I heard about the guy who was thrown off his deck on the news. I didn't realize that he was your neighbor.
It was terrifying and yet we couldn't peel our eyes away. There is nothing like nature at work. Fascinating.
So is weather always this weird in Colorado, Apr-Jun??????? The news here in GJ is of course talking about it all from what I can see.
We drove by your house to check on you guys around 8:00pm but you weren't home - I guess you were helping someone else clean up!
Holy cow. I thought those were slimy egg yolks or something in your hand. Must get crazy weather stuck between the plains and the mountains.
That is amazing!!! I thought our storm was bad. We had over 40 homes flooded in our city after the hail and rain came on Tuesday. We were fine. Our hail was only marble size not the size you were getting...holy cow those were big. I am so glad to hear you are okay. How is Brandon doing with his healing process? I hope he is doing well. He is in our prayers as is your family. Love you!
Okay... "you're the winner, or should I say the loser?!" (Just following the theme of Heathers reply!!
Glad y'all are all right - it's okay to be boring every so often you know!!
