We'll take the high road

We haven't taken the kids to do alot of mountain biking up till now. Brandon can bike with his ankle, hiking he has to go a little bit slow and easy.
So this is the year.
We spent Memorial Day weekend in the Grand Junction/Fruita area. We were referred to the perfect trail for us by my brother Tristan and some friends here. We loved this trail. It was perfect for our kiddos and me.
It skirts the rim of the cliffs above the Colorado River.
Fabulous scenery, trails and weather. The kids were total troopers. Our first run thru this trail Mitch was whooping and hollering like he was on a roller coaster. The second time thru he was going too fast to holler much. Crazy kid.

Kassidy biked really well even though we realized her bike has become too short for her.

I hate it when bikes shrink.

The second day on this trail, we told the kids that it looked like it would rain. If we started on the trail , there was no turning around. We could get stuck out in the cold rain, get muddy and have to push our bikes back all cold and wet. They still wanted to do it. Yep.
But, we had perfect weather while biking.
It started raining just as we got back to the trailhead.
We will be back.

Great lookin' weather for biking. You scored another great family memory...the kind that hold kids close later when it counts. Way to go!

Jane saw the picture of Mitchell and blew him a kiss. She definitely remembers him. Good times!

Sounds like tons of fun! I hate it when bikes shrink too. We just had one shrink on us recently. Darn.

I still have trouble navigating my flat driveway on my bike....I admire anyone who can bike of a paved road...

Mayflower's bike shrank, too...I guess that's what happens when they get wet... Looks like you guys had a great time! I love mountain biking.
