It's a great day to be alive!

We had a very fun morning today. At 8am bright and early Kass and Mitch darted out in front of the pack in their 1 mile fun run. I had told them to take it easy so they didn't poop out too early. I was wrong. Mitchell crossed the finish line in overall 2nd place, sprinting the whole way. Kassidy wasn't too far behind finishing in the top 1/3 of the racers. What a treat for me to see their smiling faces as they crossed the finish line of their first miler. I started my race at 8:30am and 30 minutes later crossed the finish line of the 5K. Mitchell had begged me to get first. I said, " that's not happening", he said, " how about 2nd then?"
Well, that didn't happen either, but I felt great and had a good time.
Me just crossing the finish line and seeing the kids.
Photo by Kass. Brandon had to work.
My totally awesome kids!

Ladies from the ward. Go AnnJanee and Kimberly!

Sidenote.

My 5K playlist is important to mention as it helps having tunes to run.

The thing that makes me feel the generation gap the most is not the running, but the tunes. None of which I have heard. (Sigh!)

Look at your cute family. I love them.

Next time you do a 5K, call me. I have a goal to do one someday.

That's it! I need a great play list! Thanks for posting yours. If I have some great tunes goin' maybe I won't think about how much I dislike running. You've definitely inspired me with your awesome accomplishment! Dang cute kids. Now watch, you'll go and do a mini triathalon...

Great fun Rita B. I can't run very far without a ball in my hand. (football) or one at my feet (soccer). Glad the kids had fun.
